Het echte werk komt van Arte en gaat altijd per meter. Wild Silk is van onbewerkte zijde, en in Kami en Le Couturier zit zijde in het weefsel. De glans wordt nagebootst in Soie Changeante van Élitis, Serica van Masureel en Orfeo van Hookedonwalls.
Die nagebootste dessins zijn vaak afwasbaar en kunnen daardoor ook in een gang, terwijl echte zijde een droge wand zonder felle zon vraagt. Vraag bij twijfel een staal aan, want juist glans laat zich op een foto slecht beoordelen.
